Grip-Base Features
Improved Ergonomics
J.B.'s Grip-Bases are designed to improve the ergonomics of some awesome high-end enthusiast cameras. The improved handling creates a stable platform for steady shooting: in some cases, a place to comfortably put your pinky finger - in other cases, a place to finally get a grip on what is basically a flat faced camera.
Battery Compartment Access
All of my products (with the exception of the RX100 - impossible...thanks Sony!) have a cleverly designed access to the battery compartment. This is huge feature, because the last thing you want to do is take a case off to get to the battery. (The nice thing about our RX100 Grip-Base is that most people charge the battery in camera via the USB port anyway.)
Tripod Socket Screw
J.B.'s Grip-Bases come with our unique brass tripod attaching screw that secures the Grip-Base to the camera. This screw allows you to attach a tripod or Black Rapid Sling while having the Grip-Base attached and the tripod socket is still centered as the camera manufacture designed for balance.
Increased Protection
J.B.'s Grip-Bases are all designed to protect the base of your cameras from the accidental drop to setting it on rough surfaces like concrete or rocks. This is a key feature for me and the basis on why I designed my first product ever for the Fuji X100. Who can't use more useable protection on their expensive camera?
Extra Grip/Bulk - Easily Removed
J.B.'s Grip-Bases give that little extra bit of gripping power that so many camera manufactures have gone away from. This little extra bulk gives you the steady grip you need when out in the field. Sometimes, you need very minimal bulk and that is why our product is great - you can easily remove it with almost any coin in your pocket.
Hand Poured. Hand Finished. Made in the U.S.A.
Our products are proudly made in the USA. Each part is hand poured (not injection molded) through an exclusive process, and then each part is hand sanded and finished to give a unique, brushed and polished texture. The unique manufacturing process we use allows the final product to have undercuts, variable wall thickness, and can have durable structural properties similar to high-impact styrene. Since these parts are hand poured and hand finished, we are very limited by a smaller daily production capacity which makes our products truly limited: especially when compared to cheaply made, mass produced, injection molded parts.
